India in June 2013 witnessed an enormous devastation in the state of Uttarakhand causing floods and landslides in the country’s worst natural catastrophe since the 2004 Tsunami. The massive destruction left about 100,000 pilgrims & tourist trapped in the valleys leading to the three of the four pilgrimage sites, with paramilitary troops evacuating more than 110,000 people from the flood ravaged area.
