The Indus University was evolved from the first institution, Indus Institute of Technology and Engineering (IITE) which was established in 2006. The programs then offered by IITE were recognized by AICTE and were affiliated to Gujarat Technological University (GTU) until 2012. Diverse disciplines in Science and Technology field and few chosen ones from the Management and Computer Application field are offered as UG and PG programs under Indus University.
The other constituent institutions which offer the most sought after courses are Institute of Design, Environment & Architecture (IDEA), Institute of Aviation Technology & Engineering (IATE), Indus Institute of Management Studies (IIMS) and Institute of Information & Communication Technology (IICT). Except for the few autonomous programs, admission procedures are as per the guidelines of ACPC of the State Government. The fee structure of the programs is governed by Fee Fixation Committee of the Gujarat State Government.
Reservation of seats is as per the policies of Gujarat Government. However, specific percentage of seats are allocated to be filled through Management Quota.
Meritorious candidates are admitted for the entry level programs as well as screened-in on the basis of their performance in the national level competitive exams specific to the courses.
