About M.Tech (Electrical Power Systems)

Electrical Power system - Indus university

It is the study of Network of electrical components which are used to supply and transmit electric power. An electric power system is the network that supplies power to a region which is referred to a grid. It can be broadly divided as generators which supply the power, the transmission system which carries the power from the generating centre to the load centres and the distribution system that feeds the power to the region. Smaller power systems are used in industry, hospitals, commercial buildings and residential homes. Majority of these systems depend upon Three Phase AC power - the standard for large scale power transmission and distribution across the modern world. Specialized Power Systems are those systems which do not always rely upon three phase AC power and are found in Aircrafts, Electric Rail Systems, Ocean liners and Automobiles to cite a few.
